The City of Virginia Beach Takes the International Stage as America's Premier Renewable Energy Hub
The City of Virginia Beach is host-sponsor of the 2025 International Partnering Forum (IPF), the largest offshore renewable energy conference in the Americas, taking place April 28-May 1, at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
Oceantic Network’s International Partnering Forum (IPF) is where industry experts and global leaders from around the world come together to transform the industry through collaboration and innovation. This year’s event will offer new programming, networking events, insights from global partners and more.
Virginia Beach is a leading global hub for offshore wind development and innovation. As the base of operations for America’s largest offshore wind project, the city will host the 2025 IPF, while Dominion Energy continues the installation of its 176 turbines that will generate 2.6 gigawatts of electricity.
“As the home of the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project — the first project in federal waters and the largest offshore wind project in the U.S. — we are proud to be at the forefront of the industry,” said Virginia Beach Mayor Bobby Dyer, who will also be one of this year’s plenary speakers. “With our city's investments, infrastructure, workforce and strategic location, Virginia Beach is uniquely and proudly positioned as the global hub of collaboration for offshore wind.”
The City of Virginia Beach is proud to be a host sponsor of the 2025 IPF. The City is supported by key regional partners, including the Hampton Roads Alliance, Hampton Roads Workforce Council, The Port of Virginia, and Dominion Energy, as well as state partners such as the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, Virginia Energy, and the Virginia Maritime Association. Industry experts from across the globe will come together to share best practices, cutting-edge technical advancements, and policy updates that are shaping the energy sector.
“IPF’s curated discussions are critical for addressing the challenges and unlocking the opportunities for global communities in offshore wind, and the City looks forward to the exchange of ideas that will chart the course for collaboration, progress and sustainable solutions for the future of the industry,” said Director of Virginia Beach Economic Development Christian Green.
The event will kick off with the Central Atlantic Supplier Fair, offering IPF attendees and the public business sector a unique opportunity to explore regional industry trends, project updates, contract opportunities and more, all while showcasing Virginia Beach’s thriving offshore wind economy.
The City of Virginia Beach is excited to be at the forefront of the U.S. and global offshore wind industry’s growth. Together with its regional, state and global partners, Virginia Beach is helping to build a strong and resilient industry that creates jobs and strengthens communities.
