Airport Industrial Park

Situated along Northampton Boulevard near where I-64 and Route 13 converge, the Airport Industrial Park is located in the northwestern part of the City and in the center of the region.

Airport Industrial Park is a 250-acre park that is zoned industrial and includes more than 1 million square feet of office and retail space and more than 3.7 million square feet of industrial and flex space. The City of Virginia Beach Development Authority acquired the park in 1969.

Port traffic and military bases nearby are huge economic engines that bring value to this area for future economic development. The park is also adjacent to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, making it a desirable location for defense contractors. The strategic growth planning process confirmed that redevelopment within the study area will yield great opportunities for job creation, improved public amenities, and growth of the City's tax base.

Rail access to Class 1 railroads is available via the Buckingham Branch Railroad which has eight interchanges with CSX and Norfolk Southern and gives customers freight connections to anywhere in North America and to the Port of Virginia.

The Virginia Beach Buckingham Branch Station is located in Airport Industrial Park and provides a connection to Class 1 railroad systems: Norfolk Southern and CSX.
