June 17, 2014

Artemis Global Logistics & Solutions has chosen Virginia Beach to open its ninth international location and second in the United States.

From a 20,000-square foot warehouse off London Bridge Road in Virginia Beach, Artemis will secure and ship furniture and other items to embassies and other facilities around the world, with a particular focus on Africa or Central Asia.

“Over the past year, we’ve seen exponential growth of our team and an increase in need for our services, especially in sensitive and emerging markets,” says Jim O’Brien, President and CEO of Artemis GLS and a former Marine who worked previously for Blackwater Worldwide. “We are excited to launch a new hub in Virginia Beach that will give us access to the port and the ability to better serve our clients all over the world.”

The full spectrum supply chain firm has grown from a total investment of approximately $100,000 in November 2013 to $3.8 million (April 2014) with anticipated annual revenue of $22-million in 2014. The company handles the supply chain needs for companies such as Maersk Lines Limited, the largest shipping company in the world, APL, DHL, and numerous small, medium, and large corporations in Africa, the Middle East, Central and Southwest Asia.

To celebrate the opening of the new location, Artemis is hosting an Open House for staff members, local businesses and friends this Friday, June 20th from 4-7 pm. During the event, there will be a video chat with Artemis employees on the ground in sensitive areas across the world.About Artemis Global Logistics & Solutions (GLS): With a global footprint spanning three continents in over 63 countries and a ready network of on-the-ground support, Artemis Global Logistics & Solutions provides supply chain, project management and business facilitation services, specializing in emerging and frontier markets to clients across the globe.
