Jeffrey L. Smith joins Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development as Business Development Manager

Jeffrey L. Smith has joined the Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development as a business development manager. His primary responsibilities include managing the Department’s small business and entrepreneur programs, working with Small, Woman and Minority-owned businesses (SWaM) and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) certified companies, and attracting more investment by minority-owned businesses to Virginia Beach.
Smith brings more than 20 years of public and private-sector experience to Virginia Beach, including 11 years with Xerox Corporation in Washington D.C., and 10 years with the City of Norfolk. He is a 1987 graduate of Norfolk State University and received a master’s degree in human resource management from American University. Smith is also a 2002 graduate of the Weldon Cooper Center’s Lead Executive Training Program.
