December 19, 2012

Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global infrastructure, strategic consulting, engineering and program/construction management firm, has announced plans to merge its two current Hampton Roads locations to Convergence Center II at 277 Bendix Road in Virginia Beach. The regional headquarters will comprise 20,000 square feet of Class A office space and represents an expansion from the 17,000 square feet it currently occupies.

The company currently has 80 employees in two locations on Kempsville Road in Norfolk and Ballard Court in Virginia Beach. The move will allow the company to create 10 new jobs. The relocation will require a capital investment of $1.35 million including $846,000 in real estate improvements. The Virginia Beach Development Authority awarded the company an Economic Development Investment Program (EDIP) grant in the amount of $40,000 based on job creation and the capital investment.

“From an economic development standpoint, Parsons Brinckerhoff is an ideal company for Virginia Beach,” says Warren Harris, director of Virginia Beach Economic Development. “The company’s global presence is impressive, and having a regional headquarters here brings highly skilled professional opportunities and increased exposure to our city.”
